Chris Reed

Chris Reed combines his wide industry experience with a practical background in firefighting and an extensive education in fire science and fire engineering. For the past 12 years, he has provided consulting services to the insurance industry, private owners, and public authorities related to fires and explosions in residential, commercial, industrial, heavy equipment, and marine fire losses. With particular expertise in industrial processes, he has led the investigations of many large-loss industrial fires. Active in the industry, he is a Certified Fire Investigator and Instructor through the National Association of Fire Investigators, a past fire service instructor and is the current president of the BC Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. As part of the research program at Sereca, he continues to participate and organize large scale fire test programs.

Jack Keays

Jack Keays holds a Master of Science degree in Fire Safety Engineering and has been focusing on the fire protection industry for over six years. Drawing on his educational, design, inspection and investigation experience Jack is skilled in the assessment of failures, risk assessments and code requirements.

SYNOPSIS:

Chris and Jack will provide a presentation on modern fire investigation techniques, including the use of fire engineering research and fire modelling to analyze real fires.
