SYNOPSIS:

With a fire protection industry that has seen many advancements in recent years in the suppression and special hazards arena there is now a new technology that goes beyond suppression and stops a fire before it can start. O2 Depletion fire protection is a controlled reduction of oxygen levels in enclosed areas. By introducing nitrogen the oxygen content can be reduced and held at a precise level where an outbreak of fire is not possible. There are obvious benefits of preventing a fire instead of suppressing it especially for applications where a fire would cause unacceptable damage and traditional fire suppression is undesirable or unusable. Unlike traditional fire-suppression systems, with O2 Depletion dedicated pipes or nozzles are not required. This presentation will explore the O2 Depletion technology and its best applications. An overview of the multiple manufacturers and their benefits will be given as well as examples of actual installations will be presented.
