In recent years there have been serious advancements in the technology used in video surveillance equipment and the analytics in the software that interpret that video. Because of these advancements we can now use the cameras to detect fire hazards and fire events in innovative ways to provide greater property protection and life safety. This presentation will explore how video surveillance can be used to detect hot spots, monitor for specific temperatures, track rate of rise of heat, and even to identify smoke. The presentation will introduce different technology options that are already available and in use around the world. The presentation will include an interactive and live demonstration of camera and software technology.
