Louis-Philippe (Phil) Gagnon has recently started a new position with by Pageau Morel Engineering as a fire alarm & standards specialist. Phil has studied in computer science and electronics. His career started as an alarm system technician in 1988. His career path brought him to work for various companies such as Simplex Time Equipment Co., Wells Fargo, ADT, SimplexGrinnell and Total Fire Protection in Ottawa until he was hired by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (ULC) in February 2012 as an alarm system auditor. Phil became a Senior Alarm System Auditor with expertise in Fire Alarm Systems applicable Standards CAN/ULC-S524, -S537, -S536 and CAN/ULC-S1001 Standard for Integrated Systems Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems. Phil was a participant and the technical lead in developing the ULC’s S1001 certification program. He has also participated in various standard working groups and committees and various conferences & trainings sessions to service providers, associations and AHJ’s.
