Peter Culyer
RBS Consulting Engineering Group Inc.

Peter Culyer is the representative to the Canadian Code Centre Task Group on Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) for the EIFS Council of Canada and former chair of the S716 EIFS Standard Committee. Today, Peter works as a Project Manager with RBS Engineering Group after working in the EIFS industry for 20 years in Technical Management, R&D and Support for two of North America’s largest EIFS manufacturers.

SYNOPSIS:

Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems have been in use on Canadian non-combustible construction projects for over 30 years. Over that period, questions of performance have swung between performance under fire conditions and wind driven rain resistance. These two considerations have not always been addressed in ways that satisfy both. In this presentation, our speaker will update the audience on the latest developments in the EIFS Industry and modern design trends and their impact on Fire Protection issues. The presentation will cover the following topics: New S716 Family of EIFS Standards, National and Ontario Building Code Requirements, Fire Testing of EIFS to the S134 and S101 and EIFS Performance during the Monte Carlo Casino Fire.
